Why would a Jewish person vote for a man with a Muslim name?

Seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face to me.

Why would a Jewish person vote for a man with a Muslim name?
For the right promises and money????
Reply:Barack is a Semitic word meaning "to bless" as a verb or "blessing" as a noun. In its Hebrew form, barak, it is found all through the Bible. It first occurs in Genesis 1:22: "And God blessed (ḇāreḵə ) them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth."
Reply:It isn't about religion my dear..it is about qualification, which Mr. Obama has none and I will not vote for him only because of his politics, policies and stance on domestic issues.

I am Jewish and I don't appreciate the fact you would assume we are racists and biggots.

you are so young and naive.
Reply:As Shakespeare said, "What's in a name?"

"...fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die?...."

It's about his principles and plans. It's not about his name, or religion, or how old, young, black, fat, skinny, or any of that.

I don't want more government than that which is already crushing the life out of America.
Reply:Because they are a mature adult that sees the person as the right political candidate for the job, not a color, religion or nationality.

As a black person you AUGHT TO KNOW BETTER. Don't you want someone to choose you built on your skills and qualifiacations and not what you look like or your last name.

VERY IGNORANT!! You must be uneducated!!
Reply:The Bard (a notorious Anti-semite) once said, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." In general, we Jews are far too accustomed to being judged by our names, or our looks (i.e. noses), or our religion to fall into such a foolish trap as to judge others in such fashion. Such prejudice and lack of respect for others is the fundamental root of evil in the world!
Reply:I would hope that people (Jewish or otherwise) will not vote for a candidate based on either religion or the name that his parents gave him.

Judge the candidates by their actions, their records, their ideas... not their names. Please stick to real issues!!
Reply:because it doesnt matter what religion one is because when your voting your voting for which person can best lead the COUNTRY. and religion does not matter
Reply:Why would you assume Jews are so shallow and racist? That is a really shallow and racist assumption on your part. Isn't it?
Reply:Because judging a man by his ethnic origins is nothing short of disgusting.
Reply:Probably because they're smart enough to realize that people don't usually pick their own names.
Reply:'Barack' is the Arabic version of the Hebrew name 'Baruch'
Reply:Because Jewish people understand the dangers of judging someone based on their ancestry instead of the person is.
Reply:because we'd like to see the Bush burn. Get it. Burning Bush. ROFLMAO. Hoo, that's a good one. We should be a comedy team.
Reply:Crystal ball says "doubtful".
Reply:Well, maybe the Jewish people who would vote for a man with a Muslim name are not as shallow as yourself.
Reply:Because they are self-hating like Bill Maher and Libs,so they feel guilty too.
Reply:DID YOU TAKE YOUR MEDS TODAY??????
Reply:Because we Jews are not racist like you!
