Is someone with the last name "Abraham" more likely to be Jewish or Muslim?

I encountered a woman recently whose last name is "Abraham." She appeared to be of Iranian descent. Is this last name common to either Jews or Muslims? Moreso one or the other?

Is someone with the last name "Abraham" more likely to be Jewish or Muslim?
I would bet on Muslim. She probably adapted the spelling to English. Or her family did in the past.

Ibrahim, Abraham, Ibraham, Ibrahem.

All the same.

In reality, she could be any of the three Abrahemic religions, Christian, Jew, Muslim.
Reply:It could even be that she is married to someone of another country, although she is Iranian by-birth. I happen to know many Caucasians and Blacks with the same last name. Personally, if I had to guess between the two, strictly based on her last name, I'd say Jewish. But, the fact that she's Iranian makes it iffy.
Reply:I think Jewish
Reply:It depends on the spelling if it is spelled with an i ( Ibrahim) its most likle to be muslim

it it is spelled with an a ( abraham ) it might me jewish

hope this helps!
