How do you pronounce "Chaim", the Jewish first name?
I speak Hebrew, and it is pronounced (as in english sound)

"Haim"

the CH letters together in hebrew are named: "kaf" or "chaf, (haf)" .The "ch" is pronounced always like if u are clearing your throat, and is the 11th letter of the hebrew alfabet.

You pronounce it with a guttural "h". It rhymes with "ti-ime").

Reply:If you can combine the English "K" and "H" sound, followed by "I'm", you got it perfectly. But if not, simply "Highem" will be understood. Good luck.
Reply:With a guttural ch, as in "Bach".

Thus, "KHAI-im".
Reply:It's pronounced just as the others have said.

The word means "Life". L'Chaim means "to life!"
