Looking for name of childrens book series about Jewish family?

I am looking for a series of books about a jewish family living in america I think about the turn of the 20th century. They are very much in the same style as the little house on the prairie books. I remember there were 5 girls, living with their parents, either in new york or new jersey. The books tell about their lives, going to prayer, how things were done in their household, jewish traditions.


I think the books were published in the 1950's, or thereabout.
