No, being Jewish is not an 'ethnicity'.
There are Jews of ALL ethnicities.

Reply:It's a German name, and lots of Ashkenazi Jewish names are German names. I've never met a Jewish "Burger", but there may be some.
And yes, Judaism is an ethnicity as well as a religion. Actually, it's several different ethnicities, Ashkenazi are a different ethnic group than Sephardic. This is why you see recessive genetic mutations such as Tay Sachs in one gene-pool and not the other.
